Spas and Facials on Vacation - Not What I Expected

When I go on vacation, I want to relax AND have an exciting time of course.  The goal is to create memories, and to come home refreshed and energized.

2 of my San Diego girlfriends and I took a trip to Las Vegas last week, and hit up some of their luxury spas.  Some of them did have some fresh new treatments that were great, but one thing unfortunately stuck in my mind: I found out that because they get most of their business from tourists, a few of the spas don't have much incentive to provide killer service to encourage repeat clientele.  That's really too bad.  At first I just thought it was just my spa esthetician, but one of my girlfriends said she noticed it too.  The staff girl at the day spa even said that they are encouraged to be quick and not go above and beyond.

I'm not going to name spa names here, because it might have just been the stressful season for the spa staff - but I'm glad I go to a day spa in San Diego that is a hit with vacationers AND the locals.

A relaxing facial is only so relaxing when the spa staff is watching the clock.
